I’m going to start this blog post thanking all of you! I’ve met so many amazing families and have become friends with a lot of them. The amount of work I’ve received by word of mouth has been incredible and is the biggest compliment you can give me.
2016 has been a year of growth for me, not just in terms of being more busy, but in expanding my style of photography and constantly learning more techniques to get the shot I want. 2017 I am going to continue to work on my style (which means I’ll be getting more props because I’ve decided I can’t have enough of them!), communicating better with my clients prior to sessions to make sure our session together is unique and special to them and fine tuning my editing and being as efficient as I can all around.
My rates for all 30 and 60 minute sessions will remain the same.
I expanded on my wedding photography which was a big goal for me for 2016. I really enjoy photographing weddings and helping document every little detail. Decorations, everyone getting ready, fun set up shots, emotional shots when everything doesn’t go exactly as planned, to the shots of the entire family. I take over 1,000 pictures for full day weddings and have learned just how long I can go between bathroom breaks. ha! I get so into photographing everything I can, I just keep going and going. Even when I eat dinner, I scarf it down as quick as I can because I don’t want to miss a shot.
My goals for 2017 is to double the amount of work I had in 2016. I’m going to work on more theming during sessions based on the time of year it is. I will be taking pictures and documenting all of my props to help plan for sessions as well! I want to book at least 5 weddings in 2017. (If you know of someone getting married, please pass on my name and point them towards my wedding portfolio so they can see some of my work!) I am also going to work on expanding my dance photography…head shots, action shots, urban, nature.. all of it! This will be any age range and any skill level. I am also going to work with my web designer and change my site around so keep an eye out for that!
Thank you for taking the time to read my little blog post and continuing to support my business. You make it possible for me to continue doing what I love to do.
